I am the good Shepherd.
John 10:11

When you pass through the waters,
I will be with you;
and when you pass through the rivers,
they will not sweep over you.
When you walk through the fire,
you will not be burned;
the flames will not set you ablaze.
For I am the LORD,
your God,
the Holy One of Israel,
your Saviour;
Isaiah 43:2-3[NIV]

Don't just believe it,
LIVE LIKE IT!

As I read about the life of Jesus through the 4 gospels, the thought that fills my mind is "How awesome it must have been to have been one of Jesus' disciples! What an awesome privelege to have Jesus as a friend!  He always had the right words to say in every situation! He had the answers to peoples questions and problems! And wherever He was there was something exciting happening!   Wherever he went, He brought Life,  His love, His teaching, His power and Purpose!  Nothing phased Him!
That's why he came!  That we may know Him! and know God as Friend and Saviour! The privilege was not just for those people who walked planet earth the same time that he did! All people may know Life and Joy, Love and Peace in Him.
As an old hymn puts it... "What a friend we have in Jesus"  Paul says "nothing compares to knowing Christ"
Make it your goal this year to know Jesus better!
You won't be disappointed!!!

Jesus clears the Temple - Matthew 21:12-17.
*The Scriptures declare, *My Temple will be called a house of prayer,*
but you have turned it into a den of thieves!*
Matthew 21:13.  [NIV]

I recently saw a sign which read "If anyone ever asks you What Would Jesus Do?, Remind them that flipping over tables and chasing people with whips is within the realm of possibilities".  I'm not suggesting that we consider including this as possible responses to things and people around us but I do want us to be challenged by this passage.  Jesus walks into the Temple and finds people ripping people off in the name of providing a service.  I'm guessing the people who attended and worked at the temple didn't get up one morning and decide we could really rip people off and make a profit here! but somehow thats the place they got too.  When Jesus turns up he very clearly challenges it all, making his views known in a very strong unexpected way.  Jesus has very strong feelings about sin.  He gave his life to save us from it and he doesn't want us dabbling or falling into it.  And so here's the challenge to us... If Jesus walked into Lifewell church what would he do?  And more personally if Jesus stepped into your home? Your Mind and Heart?  What would He do??? Would he kick over tables or would he say "Well done good and faithful servant?".

Last year we gave thanks to the Lord for all
that He enabled Barnabus Fund to achieve through the first 20 years of their life. The inspiration for the name stems from the character of Barnabus in the Bible, who was known for his encouragement and compassion. Through the faithfulness and generosity of His people, God has graciously used Barnabus Fund to bring spiritual hope and practical aid to the Persecuted Church in many parts of the world.

If you would like to give to Missions just place your Missions gift in an envelope marked Missions and drop it in collection any time along with your Tithes and Offerings. Each month, you can read a little more about Christian Mission organisations and what they do!

PLEASE PRAY  :-
1. Give thanks that
Barnabus Fund has been
able, by the grace of God, to provide for the basic needs of vulnerable Christians in Syria including those displaced by the violent takeovers of their towns and especially the historic Christian village of Maaloula.
2 We pray for the tens of thousands of believers imprisoned in brutal prison labour camps in North Korea where 3 generations of a Christian family can be imprisoned for just owning a bible.
3 We pray for Christians in Nigeria who continue to be at risk of brutal violence at the hands of Islamists.
