COME NEAR TO
GOD AND HE WILL COME NEAR TO YOU!
James 4.8
Don't just believe it,
LIVE LIKE IT!
2014 is on us.
2013 is done.
But we are still blessed!
And still blessed to be a blessing!
What will this year hold?
God knows it all and goes before us!
And He Will be with us through it all!
Every day is another opportunity to know God more!
To know his heart and his plan.
As this year unfolds may our minds and hearts be
open to God leading us
to know Him more!
As we are led to love him more!
And know the joy of living his
way!
Jesus
sends his disciples on a mission Matthew 21:1-11
"Go to the village ahead of you and at once you will find
a donkey"
Matthew 21:2. [NIV]
As Jesus plans to head into
Jerusalem, He asked his disciples to go and fetch someone else's
donkeys.
HE KNEW WHAT WAS AHEAD!
He's about to make a
statement. He's about to fulfill prophecy! Jesus was about to reveal something
more of himself to the disciples and many others. The disciples were just taking
another walk into town, probably unaware of how different this visit was to be.
Let us consider... as we
step into this, another new year, how as far as we're concerned it's another
year. But, I believe God has something more of Himself to reveal to us and
many around us. I wonder what He Will ask of us, and whether He Will find
us as obedient as the disciples were that day?
SASRA stands for Soldiers
and Airman*s Scripture Readers Association. All *Readers* have served in the
armed services and are committed Christians and gifted evangelists. Subject to
Chaplains and Commanding Officers* permission they visit soldiers and airman in
their accommodation, work and recreation areas. Their aim is to introduce men
and women to the Lord Jesus Christ. Their mission is very important among those
who may be called upon to lay down their lives for their Country.
If you would like to give to Missions just
place your Missions gift in an envelope marked Missions and drop it in
collection any time along with your Tithes and Offerings. Each month, you can
read a little more about Christian Mission organisations and what they
do!
PLEASE PRAY :-
1. For all the Chaplains in Afghanistan at this time
and their families back home
.2. That God will comfort and strengthen the
families who have lost loved ones.
3. For a new year of opportunity, favour, strength
and blessing for all in the SASRA family for 2014
Local churches linked by HOPE*s distinctive branding
are:
demonstrating God*s love by meeting needs in our
communities; finding ways to build authentic local relationships and
friendships.
continuing to love and serve people regardless of
what they choose to believe
inviting people to go further in their spiritual
journey, sharing the gospel with words in culturally relevant
ways.
giving people a chance to respond to the gospel then connecting
people who do respond into church life
HOPE is a catalyst bringing churches together to
transform communities. Momentum is building towards a year of mission in 2014 *
the whole church, reaching the whole nation, for a whole year. The mix of
denominations, churches, ages and cultures * and the number of ministries
involved -- is unprecedented. Churches in Swansea are working together to meet
the needs and care for homeless homeless people through the coldest months. The
new night shelter, run as a joint project under the banner of Swansea Hope, will
provide emergency accommodation and a hot meal for rough
sleepers.
Pray for Mandy Harvey as she leads Swansea hope.
