"Be strong and very courageous.
Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you;
do not turn from it to the right or to the left,
that you may be successful wherever you go."
Joshua 1:7 [NIV]

So far, 2014 has certainly brought some storms! But, as the year continues, we are hoping that spring is on the way and that we get a good summer this year.
In our lives, there are seasons! There is Winter and storms, dry times and droughts, refreshing rains and uplifting sunshine.  Maybe, you're experiencing some storms.  Stop and consider that the Son has come! And because of him , we have a hope and a future! Could Spring be on its way in more ways than one?  Spring brings new life and brighter an better weather.  Jesus the light of the world means we never have to walk in darkness! He's made the light of life available to us.  He is the good shepherd who's promised to never leave us!  So we need never walk alone!  Whatever the season!!!
Look to God for your future! Trust Him to lead you through the seasons and to bring light and life to our lives! Our Church!
Our City and our Nation!

Jesus clears the Temple - Matthew 21:12-17.
“Haven’t you ever read the Scriptures? For they say, “You have taught children and infants to give you praise.” “
Matthew 21:16.  [NIV]

Jesus  walked into the temple and declared it to be a more of a den of thieves than a house of prayer.  Obviously there was very questionable money making going on.  But maybe there's more to see here!  We immediately pick up on the financial implications as the money goes flying everywhere and maybe we are caught off guard at Jesus' actions.  But, keep reading and you see that Jesus then heals the blind and the lame and the children are singing "Praise God for the Son of David".  They recognise Him as they observe his action against sin and sickness and they realise who Jesus is.  However, the religious leaders miss it all and question Jesus on what he is going to do about stopping these children singing his praises.  They completely miss who he is and the miracles he has done and as a result set themselves against those who without their own preconceived ideas, simply accept Jesus for who he is, based on the evidence before them.  What a contrast between the' weak and humble' infants who realise their dependence and the arrogant enemies of God.  Rather than being open to recognising who Jesus is and realising their shortfalls, they seek to steal the truth from those who accepted Jesus and the joy that he brought.  Again we consider did they do this on purpose or had they just drifted to a place where they knew the scriptures, but missed the truth within?  They  fighting for the wrong things while missing out on the main thing?  What a challenge to each of us!!!

MAF could be described as a technical mission using  aviation and technology to share God*s love and to reach isolated and remote people with the physical help and spiritual care they desperately need in around 25 developing countries.
Partnering with over 1000 organisations their 130 light aircraft fly into 1800 remote destinations to land on rugged and basic landing strips in conditions very different to our experience of UK airports. MAF needs people with a wide variety of skills to serve. It is not easy to live in many of the developing countries which do not have constant electricity or reliable clean water. Those who step out in faith are an inspiration. Each flight carries help and hope to men, women and children. “MAF is flying for life”.

PLEASE PRAY  :-
1 Give thanks that MAF planes were able to evacuate staff during the ongoing political unrest in South Sudan. Lord the people of South Sudan are crying out for help. Give them your hope and healing at this difficult time.
2 Remember the Yida refugee camp where 70,000 people live crammed together in a *no man*s land* without electricity.
3 Pray for the security situation in Kenya. Many people are nervous after last year*s attack in Nairobi.
4 Pray for all MAF staff to be kept safe both in the air and on the ground.
5 Pray for ongoing funding for them to continue with this very valuable work.

If you would like to give to Missions just place your Missions gift in an envelope marked Missions and drop it in collection any time along with your Tithes and Offerings. Each month, you can read a little more about Christian Mission organisations and what they do!
