R-Gen

R-Gen is our youth programme and is aimed at young people aged 11 and over.

The name R-Gen speaks of a 'Rising Generation' who will rise above the accepted norm of society, finding that living life God's way is a better way!

When read, R-Gen also has the bonus of sounding like Our Gen as in 'our generation', so young people can own it for themselves and know its for them and their peers.

Young people today are part of a rising generation who are growing up in a society with many pressures and uncertainties.

We believe that knowing Jesus and His teachings and their relevance for life today can change lives, and our world for the better! Activities on a Friday night vary from week to week, but the general content is fun, games and what could be called 'God stuff'.

"There is fun & games include snooker, playstation, tuck shop, dodgeball, football, volleyball, rounders & board games"

And the 'God stuff' would include themed games, prayer, Bible reading, songs about God and to God, teaching from the Bible and discussions.

However, we believe that God is as much interested and a part of our fun and games as He is in the 'God stuff'.

God cares about each of us completely, not only when we pray but when we are enjoying a sunset or time with a friend.

The two things that Jesus said are most important for us to do is to LOVE GOD and to LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOUR (each other).

R-Gen aims to encourage, teach & demonstrate these things not just in the 'God stuff' but also in the fun and games, encouraging the Young people to demonstrate love, friendship, fairness and support one for another.

This I'm sure that you would agree is something that our world needs more of !
